Dia De Los Muertos Does Hudson

About a month ago I photographed two Dia De Los Meurtos events in Hudson for Andrew Nelson of Down in the Valley.  The first was a family-oriented craft/face painting celebration at the Hudson Opera House on 11/1.  The second event was the next night- an all-night dance party at Mexican Radio, DJed by my friend Tate.

Anniversary Portraits

Took these photographs for my lifelong friend Heather and her husband Mike as they celebrated their 5th year of marriage!  Got some suggestions and feedback from Heather and snapped away at a few picturesque places she had chosen.  They loved the results!  Here's a sampling:

Pretty (Ugly Before)

In the "Winter" I am unemployed and everything is ugly.

In the Summer I work with plants and everything is pretty.

Maine, Cont'd

If any of you ever wondered what I have been doing up in Maine for the past two Summers... well, this is it! Summer 2010 I worked as a cabin counselor/newspaper instructor at Camp Manitou in Oakland, ME. Manitou is a sleep-away camp for boys ages 8-16. Needless to say, I had a BLAST and a half. Manitou also runs a non-profit called the Manitou Experience, which is essentially the same idea, except it's only a week long, and it's strictly for boys who have suffered the loss of a loved one- they are sent to this camp FOR FREE! I volunteered for the Experience in 2010 as a counselor/photographer, making my stay up in Maine about three months altogether, and returned for the week-long camp to do some more counseling and photography in 2011. I was also able to travel to Portland and Boston while up North, and I decided to include a few shots from Portland, which I've marked as such. Anyway... enjoy! More adventures to come VERY SOON.

Constantly yearning to be back at this place.
